Firstly the committee would like to thank all members for their patience, co-operation and help in the processes of getting the new access track installed.

The next meeting will be the AGM on Tuesday 9th April at 7.00pm at the Bagworth Working Men’s Club. All matters for the agenda should be communicated to a committee member by 1st April.


1. New constitution, tenancy terms and contracts
We now have a new constitution, terms of tenancy and contracts. Please hand your signed copy in  when you pay your allotment fees to the Parish Council. For those without internet there is a copy of each document delivered with the newsletter, those with email shoulkd receive an electronic copy.


2. Allotment Fees 2013
The allotment fees have been set by the Parish Council at £15 per plot and £7.50 per plot for plots 2, 4, 6 and 7a.The allotment association subscriptions have been set at £5 per person per annum and are compulsory. Our Chairman and parish councillor Steve Smith will be at the Parish Council offices at the community centre every Friday throughout April between 10am and 12 noon to collect allotment fees, subscriptions, receive the new signed contracts and issue receipts. The payments must be by CHEQUE ONLY and can be posted at the community centre if you can not make Friday mornings. There will be NO £25 deposit for new plot holders and no charge for new plot holders taking over a plot after 1st September.


3. New Access Track
The construction of the new access track was passed by the Parish Council on 7th January. The contractor Richard Bailey was chosen from the three tenders and work is to be completed by the end of February

4. New Website
The Allotment Association now has this website.
Please visit this site regularly website and leave us your comments. Contributions from Association Members would be received with appreciation. These can be given to one of the Committee.


5. Article in the Herald
There is to be an article in The Herald to promote the Bagworth allotments and the Allotment Association.


6. Security
We plan to join the Allotment Watch scheme in conjunction with Ellistown allotments – more details to follow.


7. National Allotment Society
We will join the National Society after the April AGM when our £5 subscriptions have been paid.


8. Plot Inspections
All plots will be inspected on a monthly basis from April to September .The plots will be inspected by a team of three- one committee member, one parish councillor and one plot holder. Any plots looking untidy or uncultivated will result in an advice letter being sent to the plot holder.


9. Bagworth Show
Don’t forget the Bagworth Show on Saturday 24th August. You are all automatically entered into the Allotment Of The Year competition. Please enter your vegetables into the Allotment Produce Cup which is ONLY open to Bagworth Allotment plot holders
