Many thanks to Sandra Crompton for this contribution...

Plot 27 –the new place to hang out. Not much to do as it’s all long grass and a lot of old smelly carpet, but a few interesting smells as I travel around so looks promising. Have been sitting around for ages whilst they strim (a bit noisy), drag the carpets off with the tow bar of the car (that was quite entertaining), brought the plough in, put fences in to stop me escaping or meeting up with any new friends and generally ignoring me. Mind you, I can still meet my fans if I stand on my hind legs and bark to let them know I’m here…

Really interesting smells today as a whopping great tractor and trailor delivered some straw and stuff which ended up being spread all over the ground. It made me wonder how big their ‘poo bags’ are!

Garlic and fruit –not my idea of a good meal but it looks like that’s what I’m going to be getting next year, if the planting so far is anything to go by.

A bit of seasonal mirth today as they transferred the shed from the old plot to my new ‘pad’. Watching three of them carry all those panels over fences and plots so precariously made me forget about the driving wind and rain completely! I hope they put the paths in soon, too, as I’m fed up with skidding over the mud wherever I walk.
January 2013
I still visit my new pad most days on my walk but there’s not a lot doing now.

Well they’ve got their work cut out I can tell you. Digging the whole plot over and pulling out that ‘Couch grass’ by hand will keep them busy ‘til around June I predict.
March 2013
I’ve noticed they’ve put a few plants and seeds around the place and I think it’s really kind of them to feed the wildlife here so well. There’s nothing to show for all those snacks now –must have been hungry.
April/May 2013
Am getting fed up now as all my space is being taken by greenery. I can’t get to the fences any more as they keep putting string and poles everywhere to keep me out. And they’ve invited more creatures in by putting two bird ‘allotment apartments’ on my shed. The pile of ‘Couch grass’ is getting quite high now.
June 2013
That’s it. Not a shred of space anywhere for me to roam. Every space occupied by potatoes, sweetcorn, beetroot and so on; but nothing to my liking. I can help myself to the raspberries when she’s not looking but it’s not enough for a growing dog. I wonder if Oscar has the same trouble next door?

Just come back from my hols and those weeds have come on a treat. I didn’t realise she had planted any but they are doing better than the first stuff she put in now. And there’s a bit more to do now those white butterflies are visiting all the time. But it’s frustrating when they hide in the leaves and I can’t watch them anymore.
August 2013
Welcome to the first ever Open Day. It’s a bit more lively than usual and there’s a lot of strange ‘folk’ around and I quite like it this way. Funny that they never move though. But call themselves crow scarers? Don’t make me laugh! If you want the real thing just get a four-legged friend and consider the job done…Still I suppose it will be over soon and then we’ll be back to normal. But hang on…is that a burger I can smell?
